Liverpool scouts monitored Victor Osimhen vs. Saudi Arabia

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have reportedly joined a list of clubs who are ambitious about landing Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

According to reports by the UK Sun, the Nigerian International was scouted on by Liverpool’s team of scouts during the international friendly tie versus Saudi Arabia last Friday.

The report also alleged that Osimhen’s public dispute with his Serie A club has put several top European teams on alert.

Last month, the relationship between Osimhen and Napoli took a sour turn when the club’s social media team seemingly mocked the Nigerian striker for missing a penalty against Bologna, labeling him a “coconut.”

According to The Sun, Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, is showing keen interest in Osimhen, with the German said to have deployed one of his scouts to observe the Nigerian forward in action during international duty.

Osimhen featured for 60 minutes in a friendly match between the Super Eagles and Saudi Arabia held in Portugal, but he was forced to leave the field due to a hamstring injury.

Consequently, he did not participate in their subsequent friendly against Mozambique.

It will be interesting to see how the move comes about however, as clubs such as Chelsea have been reported to also hold interests in the Striker.
