Liverpool fan, Lebron James backs Klopp for Manager of the Season Award

Celebrity Liverpool fan and NBA player, Lebron James has never shied away his support for the Merseyside club over the years. He has even talked about the club, its players vocally on the internet and has met them once in a while when he is chanced.

Recently, the NBA star showed his backing for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after the German was nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Year award.

The German was announced to be up against the likes of Thomas Frank, Pep Guardiola, Eddie Howe and Patrick Vieira for the honour, an award which the Liverpool boss had claimed in 2020 after guiding his side to their first league title for 30-years.

Liverpool, currently are chasing for the historical quadruple with the side having already won the Carabao Cup, the FA Cup this season via penalties and await another final and the conclusion of the Premier League season to see how things come.

NBA star James has been a stakeholder in Liverpool for 11 years after buying 2% of the Reds for £4.7m in 2011, before he became a minor partner in Fenway Sports Group, the club’s owners, last year.

Reacting to Klopp being nominated for the award, the star James wrote on Twitter: “He gets my vote!!!!”

It hasn’t been the only time James has shown his support to the club on Twitter, with the star having tweeted in celebration of the team’s victory in the Champions League semi final against Villarreal, which prompted Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher to invite the Basketball legend to Paris with the CBS team.

“Give us the support we need to win that seventh European Cup. Come and join us big man!” Jamie Carragher said.
