Liverpool continue their Slumber of Last Season

Liverpool were widely raved of last season for their quadruple run as the Merseyside club held on to the final games of the season in a history making fashion to win 2 cups while losing out on the other 2 on the final match day of the season.

But in that run, there was another history in which the Reds created; and it was in winning from a losing position or in other words, conceding first to their opponent.

That run began against Tottenham towards their title charge against Manchester City , continued against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa and again on the final 2 match days of the Premier League and Champions League against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Real Madrid as Liverpool saw themselves conceding goals first in the run of matches.

Real Madrid though made it quite the negative taste as the La Liga club ensured the Reds never came back from their losing position in time to steal the Champions League title.

Liverpool continue their Slumber of Last Season

Another new season began, and it seems Liverpool aren’t ready to let go of the negative run they started again, as they began the opening weekend of the Premier League to concede yet again against Fulham but this time to see out a draw.

The run still went into the second week of the Premier League’s new season with Liverpool again conceding to Crystal Palace through a Wilfred Zaha’s classic counter attacking finish.

Again, Liverpool’s defensive line gets caught out as the Reds keep on slumbering to let the opponent into the game while making things a whole lot tougher for themselves.

This time, the game becomes quite tense as new signing, Darwin Nunez receives a Red Card in the game for a violent conduct.

The game was rescued by a Luis Diaz classic finish to steal a point for the Reds against Crystal Palace in a 1-1 draw at full time.
