Liverpool, Chelsea ready for war as they battle for 2 players

The transfer clasico returns, but this time it looks like it’s bringing Chelsea and Liverpool into hostilities even before the premier league season opener between both rivals as they are now entangled in the race for 2 players.

According to reports, Liverpool have initiated contact with Brighton and Hove Albion for a potential deal that brings Moises Caicedo to Merseyside despite Chelsea already finalizing deals to nab the Ecuadorian.

This is in response to last night’s report that Chelsea have sent an official bid worth £48m for Romeo Lavia, a player Liverpool are reportedly interested in and have already have 2 bids rejected for by Southampton.

According to Liverpool FC journalist, Neil Jones, an official offer that was submitted for the Ecuadorian was denied, with Moises Caicedo’s eyes set on joining Mauricio Pochettino’s side this summer after personal terms agreed.

The Reds still maintain pursuit of Romeo Lavia despite Chelsea’s bid with Southampton hanging on to £50m price tag minimum.

The transfer drama has created a lot of stir online amongst the Liverpool fandom with hashtags of FSG Out trending on twitter and the club’s owner, John Henry also trending on the micro blogging platform.

Crazy times lie ahead for both clubs before they face off on Sunday’s premier league clash. A clash between clubs in the premier league and a clash between clubs for a midfield signing.

Again, the Blues are involved in a transfer clasico, as the summer window lingers on.

Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia might end up on either the benches of Liverpool or Chelsea come beginning of the season, but it is hard to tell which sits on the red or blue bench.
