"Liverpool can say what they want" -- Haaland

Cockiness takes center stage before the main affair as Liverpool and Manchester City stars exchange words over club superiority.

Liverpool versus Manchester City is sure going to be a heated contest this coming weekend, and even before the game, Liverpool and Man City stars are exchanging words off pitch.

In a recent interview, Liverpool Right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold riled the Man City fanbase after he criticized the Manchester side for the manner they won their titles compared to the Reds.

Rightly so, the other side of the divide did not take kindly to Alexander-Arnold’s words, with debates and online comments drumming up hype ahead of the Sunday fare.

Reacting to Alexander-Arnold, Manchester City’s lethal striker, Erling Haaland shared his opinions on Liverpool and what the famous Right-back said.

“Liverpool can talk as much as they want, or Trent Alexander-Arnold can talk as much as he wants… I don’t know why he does that, but I don’t mind,” the former Borussia Dortmund player said.

Erling Haaland goes on to lay a dig on Trent Alexander-Arnold, saying;

“If he wants to say that, okay. I’ve been here one year and I’ve won the treble and it was quite a nice feeling, I don’t think he knows exactly this feeling…,”

With both clubs’ players and managers often trading words in recent times, it isn’t far in the realm of possibilities that Liverpool vs. Manchester City could one day rival Liverpool versus Manchester United’s rivalry.
