Lionel Messi discloses shocker on PSG move

Lionel Messi seems to have finally confirmed the reason behind his underwhelming stint for PSG in his first season with the club, 2 summers ago.

Lionel Messi, one of the greatest footballers of all time, has made a surprising revelation, disclosing that his move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was never his preferred choice.

The 35-year-old Argentine, who is on the verge of signing with Inter Miami as a free agent, has opened up about his two-year stint at PSG, explaining that it was not part of his original plans.

The unexpected departure of Messi from Barcelona sent shockwaves throughout the football world. Financial constraints prevented the Spanish club from registering his contract within LaLiga’s spending limits, leading to his move to PSG, where he signed a two-year deal that is set to expire in June.

In a recent interview, Messi reflected on his time in Ligue 1 and revealed his reservations about the experience. He spoke about the challenges he faced, particularly the difficult process of settling into a new city and living in a hotel for an extended period with his family. Adapting to a new school and environment proved to be a significant adjustment for his children.

“It was very, very, very difficult,” Messi admitted candidly. “We never, ever wanted to come [to Paris]. But the family supports me, and the decision was a collective one, not only mine.”

Despite the initial difficulties, Messi shared that his family has gradually adapted to life in Paris. However, there remains a lingering sense of sadness as their stay in the French capital was not part of their original plans.

“I heard reports of La Liga giving the green light but the truth is that many, really many things were still missing in order to make my return to Barça happen”, Lionel Messi was also quoted saying.

“I didn’t want to be responsible for them to sell players or reduce salaries. I was tired”.

As Messi prepares to embark on a new chapter in his football journey with Inter Miami, his unexpected revelation sheds light on the challenges and sacrifices he and his family have faced along the way.

Football enthusiasts worldwide eagerly anticipate witnessing Messi’s performances in the MLS, while his time at PSG will be remembered as an unexpected detour in his illustrious career.

With his impending move to Inter Miami, Messi is poised to captivate fans with his exceptional skills once again, as he continues to leave an indelible mark on the sport.

“I had to come to Paris, stay in a hotel for a long time with my family, with my children going to school and still being in the hotel,” Messi said.

“We never, ever wanted to come [to Paris]. It was very, very, very difficult, but the family supports me and it is a collective decision, not only mine.

“There is a tinge of sadness for them now, because while it was hard for them at the beginning, they are now more adapted to Paris.” was quoted as saying.
