Lil Wayne gave me $30,000 to support my mother – Drake recounts

Popular Canadian rapper, Aubrey Graham professionally known as Drake, has showered appreciation to his former record label boss and mentor, Lil Wayne.

Drake went so emotional on Saturday, August 6, during the Young Money Entertainment reunion at the 2022 edition of OVO Fest.

The singer paid his tribute to his mentor, Wayne, for his support as he recounted how Lil Wayne gave him $30,000 at the early stage of his career.

Appreciating Wizzy for the kind gesture, he described it as the most important money he’s ever received in his life.

The Grammy-winning singer got emotional on stage after the Young Money Founder performed his hit tracks; Mrs. Officer, Loyal, Steady Mobbin, and A Milli.

Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Wayne appeared on the stage for a half-hour set which was when he decided to appreciate Lil Wayne for the $30,000.

Describing Lil Wayne as the most selfless human on earth, Drake stated that the money was really helpful for the next six months and it changed life for his family.

He told Lil Wayne; ‘That’s the most important amount of money I’ve made in my life to date – you’re the most important man to each and every one of us. You are truly the most selfless man on planet earth.”

Meanwhile, also speaking on the relevance of the reunion, Nicki Minaj said; “When you’re at the top, and you always remember your motherfucking family, that’s character.”
