Libya in turmoil ahead of Nigeria clash

Mind games or are Libya already getting cold feet ahead of facing Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers according to head coach, Nasser Al-Hadiri’s comments?

Nasser Al-Hadiri, in a recent statement has voiced grave concerns over the team’s lackluster preparation.

In the lead-up to their highly anticipated showdown against Nigeria, the Mediterranean Knights find themselves in disarray, with key players out due to injuries and suspensions.

To make matters worse, reports from Libya reveal that several top stars have opted to boycott the games, adding to the mounting pressure on the team.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Al-Hadiri, who took over a team already struggling with form. He revealed that the absence of key players during their initial training sessions has made it nearly impossible to implement a solid strategy, leaving the North Africans scrambling just days before their face-off with the Super Eagles.

Libya’s fragile situation has sparked growing concern, especially as they prepare to face Nigeria, a football powerhouse, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo this Friday.

With a home fixture in Benina looming just four days later, the Mediterranean Knights’ chances seem increasingly slim, leaving fans to wonder if their AFCON dream is slipping away before it even begins.

Can Libya pull off a miraculous turnaround, or will Nigeria steamroll a team on the verge of collapse? The stage is set, but the Mediterranean Knights are anything but ready.
