“Let’s look at the positives” — Reece James
Liverpool versus Chelsea at Anfield was a close encounter that could have gone either way, but Blues’ Captain Reece James wants to look at the positives.
Following an underwhelming 2023/24 season and a few weeks on the sidelines this season, the Right-Back returned to the Chelsea lineup to face on current league leaders Liverpool at their home turf in an eventual 2-1 defeat.
Despite Chelsea’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, Reece James remains optimistic about the Blues’ future this season.

Fresh from a long injury layoff, James returned to the starting XI and praised the strides made under new boss Enzo Maresca.
While the result at Anfield stung, the England international stressed the team’s evolution. “If you look at what we’re trying to do, we’ve come a long way,” James told Sky Sports, highlighting the team’s steady progression.
Chelsea’s current start to the 2024/25 season pales in comparison to their form last season, with the West London team dragging themselves into title challenging narratives this campaign.
However, it remains to be seen where that form will lead them.
Though early days under Maresca, James believes Chelsea is on the right path. With a crucial clash against Newcastle next, can the Blues bounce back and prove James right? Fans will be watching closely!
