“Let this nonsense stop" — Georgina Ibeh fires back at Actors

Nollywood actress and producer Georgina Ibeh has had enough of actors trying to sway her casting decisions.

Taking to Instagram on November 12, 2024, she vented her frustration over a growing industry trend where some actors demand specific co-stars before signing on to her films.

Georgina Ibeh detailed how, after initial negotiations and payments, actors often ask, “Who else is in the movie?”

While she acknowledges that actors might want to know their co-stars to ensure on-screen chemistry, she’s troubled by those who go a step further by suggesting, or even demanding, certain cast members.

“So if I don’t use the particular person that you want, you won’t act in the movie?”

For Ibeh, these demands aren’t just overstepping boundaries but are a sign of misplaced priorities within the industry.

“Maybe I’m a bit old-school, but I’ve tolerated so much in this movie-producing business,” she admitted, underscoring the strain these power plays are causing for filmmakers.

Issuing a strong public warning, Georgina Ibeh set the record straight: “Let this nonsense stop today! Nobody should try it with me or GI Films. If I call you, act and go home. Don’t suggest people to me!”

She made it clear that, while open to collaboration, she won’t tolerate anyone dictating her creative process or attempting to influence her casting choices.
