At the age of 66, Kevin Conroy, who provided the voices of the venerable Batman from DC Comics and his alter ego Bruce Wayne in other media franchises, passed suddenly.

Conroy made his acting debut as Bruce Wayne and his superhero persona in the 1992–1995 animated series Batman.

Fans found both his acting and the series to be so beloved that he frequently made appearances in subsequent animated films and TV shows, as well as video games like Arkham Knight and Arkham City.

His most recent appearance in his iconic role was for a 2019 Batwoman episode.

Conroy’s estate has not yet confirmed the news, however earlier today Diane Pershing, who co-starred with Conroy in Batman: The Animated Series and other shows as the DC villain Poison Ivy, made the announcement on her personal Facebook page.

She penned:

“Very sad news: our beloved voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, died yesterday. He’s been ill for a while but he really put in a lot of time at the cons, to the joy of all of his fans. He will be sorely missed not just by the cast of the series but by his legion of fans all over the world… RIP, friend.”
