LASTMA Rescues Little Girl Who Escaped From Her Guardian’s Home Over Constant Maltreatment

An underage girl spotted wandering near Jibowu beneath the Bridge was rescued while on duty by officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
Mr Adebayo Taofiq, Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, said in a statement that the little child was observed sitting alone beneath the bridge at Jibowu approximately 7:20 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023.
“During interrogation, the young girl who gave her name as Kemisola Christy revealed that she ran away from home due to maltreatment from her guardian who lives at 72, Glover Street, Ebute Metta,” the statement read.
“Christy revealed further that she was afraid and ran away from home after her guardian threatened to cut off her hands when she was caught stealing N100 out of money she kept inside purse.
“She was however handed over to Police men attached to Alakara Police Station for further investigation.”
