Many private schools in Lagos State have held virtual graduation ceremony for their pupils as part of initiatives to cope with challenges of COVID-19 pandemic, TopNaija reports.

Photographs of the graduating pupils were seen online, where they wore their graduation gown within the confines of their homes.

The Director and Parent Coach, Le Poshe School, Ikoyi Lagos, Mrs Ronkeposh Adeniyi, described graduation as a unique opportunity for pupils, adding that it should not be postponed.

She said, “Since COVID-19 is not leaving in a hurry and schools are still closed for safety reasons, we decided to leverage technology. I really wanted a lasting experience and memory for the pupils, which they deserve and received.”

In the same vein, the Head, Bambini School, Ikeja, Mrs Ajibike Adetayo, also took out time to meet her pupils in the comfort of their homes and took photographs with them, showing the school’s drop banner, as she presented them with their graduation gifts and certificates.

Adetayo said they had finished their classes online and had done their assessments, describing the children as priceless to her.

The school head added that she couldn’t allow them to go without celebrating them.

“Well, we did have our virtual graduation, but it couldn’t just end there. These are children that have been with us for between four and nine years. So, we were not going to let them go like that. It was an awesome experience.”
