La Liga player’s father stabbed multiple times in Spain
Weeks after the jubilation of Euro 2024, where La Liga shinning light Lamine Yamal made history in the tournament, tragedy has struck the young star’s family.
Mounir Nasraoui, Yamal’s father, was reportedly stabbed late Wednesday in a car park in Mataró, a town in north-eastern Spain. The shocking incident occurred not far from Barcelona, where Lamine has been making headlines for his exceptional talent.
According to La Vanguardia, Nasraoui was initially rushed to Can Ruti hospital in Badalona in serious condition. The 35-year-old father was said to be in a critical state, a terrifying turn of events for a family that had just been celebrating Yamal’s monumental achievements.

However, a later report from the sports website Relevo offered a glimmer of relief, revealing that Nasraoui had since been discharged from the hospital and returned home, reportedly out of danger.
The reports haven’t stated the motivation behind the attack but theories of racial prejudice cannot be ruled out at the moment.
The police continue to investigate the attack as the football community rallies around the 17-year-old prodigy, whose incredible rise on the pitch is now clouded by personal tragedy.
The question on everyone’s mind: How will this unsettling event impact one of Spain’s brightest young talents?
Lamine Yamal ever since his debut for Barcelona, has been one the shinning prospects at the club and a rising name in the Spanish La Liga, with the teenage sensation eyed in similar veins with a younger Lionel Messi.
