The Kwara State Police Command has apprehended one of its own for assaulting two civilians in Ilorin, the state capital.

This arrest comes after a video had gone viral on social media earlier capturing how the said police officer manhandled two brothers for an unknown crime.

The brothers identified as Adeleke Ridwan, 22, and Adeleke Habeeb the eldest reportedly sell clothes in the Challenge area of Ilorin.

Reacting to the humiliating scenario on Friday, June 3, the Police Command in a press release revealed that the officer in the viral video belongs to the Kwara State Command’s Anti Robbery team who were carrying out a routine check along Unity roundabout Ilorin.

The agency further revealed him as Inspector Aigbobahi Ogbemudia.

The Command frowned at the development, stating emphatically, that the policeman has no right to hit or assault any citizen in that manner regardless of his status, even as a suspect under investigation.
