Kidnappers kill 19-year-old Moroccan University student after N17M ransom payment In Nasarawa
TopNaija has gathered reports on the 19-year-old student Anas Zubairu that kidnappers murdered in Nasarawa State.
Zubairu was taken for ransom last Friday evening around 6 p.m. in Lafia, and the people who took him killed him after getting the ransom.
According to news outlet, Daily Trust, the deceased’s family paid a N17m ransom to get him back.
The news source said that Zubairu, a student at a university in Moroccan, was kidnapped while on holiday with his family.
After being with his family for a while, he drove away, parked his car, and locked the gate before going home. Around this time, the kidnappers, who were hiding nearby, shot him in the left shoulder.
A close family member who asked to remain anonymous told the news outlet that Zubairu was taken to an unknown place by his captors after he was shot.
After five days, the kidnappers called the family and asked for N30 million in cash. The family was able to pay the N17 million debt after they negotiated.
The attackers stopped talking to the family two days after the cash was paid, though.
Early Sunday morning, they informed the family that Zubairu had been killed.
