Kidnappers capture passengers along Kogi road.

Topnaija reports that passengers who had boarded an 18-seater bus have been captured along Anyigba-Itobe road in Ofu Local government Area of Kogi  state

According to eyewitnesses in the area, the incident happened  4pm on Monday at Ochadamu area on the highway just as reported

Sources that had also witnessed the scene stated that the kidnappers had stopped the bus at gun point and chased the passengers to the bush

According to further investigations, the bus was heading to Abuja when the unexpected incident had happened.

Residents added that notorious activities had increased in the area after the army checkpoint  had stopped functioning

The local securities in the area have been making efforts to rescue the victims since the kidnap happened on Monday

Navy commander Jerry Omodara(retd), the state security adviser to governor Yahaya Bello had confirmed the incident on Thursday and ensured that the government is presently making effort to resolve the case

“We have fought them, we will fight them, and we will continue to fight them, until they are neutralised in that axis of the state. Security agents have been alerted and they will do the needful”, he said.

He stated further that the government  would never tolerate any form of notorious activity in the state and that such activities from any criminal will be put to an end
