Khalil Halilu’s Road To Success Will Inspire You

Khalil Halilu was born October 29, 1990 in Kano, Nigeria and has since grown to become one of the notable Tech investors and CEOs in Nigeria and sub-saharan Africa.

His prowess in serial business development, investment and management is clearly matchless. Seeing how he moved from his family owned businesses Scirrocco and its sister company Gongoni which together form a group with 300+ products in African markets to developing a range of tech-powered businesses.

His robust portfolio boasts of founding and co-founding the first eco-friendly tech hub in the whole of West-Africa dubbed The CANs park in 2018, ShapShap on-demand delivery,(2016) OyaOya, the first commodity marketplace in the whole of Africa, Zabe election monitoring system, Centre For Civic, Citizen’s Welfare And Community Development (CWCD Africa), Gongoni Company Limited and its sister company Scirrocco International Limited which he joined in 2010 as Chief operating officer and remains on the board of directors till date.

Khalil Halilu’s business magic fingers can perhaps be linked to his academic background. He attended the Rainbow Primary School, Kano State where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 2000.

He furthered to St. Thomas Catholic School (2001-2003) but concluded his secondary school at Prime College, Kano where he earned his WASC & GCE in 2008.

After completing his basic and higher education, he furthered to the University of Hertfordshire and bagged a B.sc degree in Business Administration. He didn’t relent after that but pressed on for his Masters degree in the same institution which he completed in 2010.

Irrespective of this ambitious cum goal getting traits, Khalil Halilu has proven he is an all-rounder with golf and polo being his major hobbies. He is a member of Abuja polo club, Nigerian Polo association, Lagos Polo club and Kano golf club. Khalil is a product of the renowned Founder institute and a member of the Global Shapers community.

According to our sources, Khalil’s thirst for entrepreneurship through problem solving, dates as far back as selling ice blocks to neighbours during a community power outage, growing up in Kano, Kano state.

Khalil loves technology and he is enthusiastic about it’s application to finding viable solutions in every field of development in Africa. His determination, dedication and hard work has not only added quality to Nigerians but also transformed the narrative of automation and systems in West Africa. In his own words ‘“..life is filled with uncertainties and challenges but it is up to you to choose from which perspective you wish to look at these challenges and then change and adapt your attitude accordingly.
