keep the flame of your dreams lit

Published

on

Growing up, I had wanted to become so many things. I had wanted to sing, to teach and then become an Accountant. I soon came to realize for myself that maybe I was not supposed to be doing all those for a living, but that did not mean I had to give up on my childhood dream.

I have been an avid reader from quite a young age. From my Macmillan school books to motivational books, I read all sorts and I would write fiction that came to my head at the time and give my friends to read my stories. Little did I know that a childhood action would influence the course of my life so deeply and so I had to adjust my goals around my passion. I simply wanted a career that made me feel happy while at it which I found in Journalism. I wanted something that kept me going each and every day.

So maybe you are not doing exactly what you thought you would do when you were five years old. But I hope that your career choice brings you the same thrill. I hope you want to work hard and achieve the same greatness you did as a kid. Do not give up on your dreams, even when they change with time. We all heard this a thousand times before when it comes to our dreams, but it is true, never ever give up on your dreams. Keep the flame lit. If it is the real thing it will stay lit, if otherwise, it will flame out.
