Katsina Lawmaker Elected To Fill In For Predecessor Dies in Saudi Arabia

Lawmaker, Dr. Ibrahim Aminu Kurami, representing Bakori Local Government Area in Katsina State House of Assembly, is dead.

Dr. Ibrahim Kurami was confirmed dead on Monday, October 10 around 2:am Nigerian time, days after he was elected to Katsina State House of Assembly in a by-election.

TopNaija understands that the by-election was conducted on October 31, 2020, following the death of his predecessor, Hon. Abdurrazak Ismail Tsiga.

Speaking with publication, Daily Trust, the family of the deceased revealed that he died after a brief illness in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. He reportedly traveled to the Middle-East country to perform Umrah.

A crowd of sympathizers was spotted at his house on Monday morning when visited by some pressmen.

Ibrahim Aminu Kurami left behind two wives, 11 children, and three grandchildren.
