Karma bites back at Erling Haaland after Arsenal defeat
Football is a very funny thing, and Erling Haaland learnt it the hard way against Arsenal in their 1-0 defeat at the Emirates.
And after a pre-match interview resurfaced online, Manchester City fans may soon find their star striker wanting over his jab at the Gunners prior to the game.
The Norwegian in his pre-match interview considered the Gunners less of an obstacle to think over, and as expected, his statement did not sit down well with the Arsenal faithful.
The Arsenal fans following his lackluster performance in Manchester City’s defeat, were quick to criticize the former Borussia Dortmund star after their team came out the victor in the tie via a Gabriel Martinelli stunner.
Before the match, Haaland’s interview with Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davison raised eyebrows among Arsenal supporters when he suggested Arsenal posed no threat to City with his nonchalant response.
Erling Haaland stated to Davison that he didn’t think too much about the problems the Gunners could present, with the Sky Sports reporter seemingly taken aback.
Arsenal fans took to social media to express their displeasure with what they perceived as Haaland’s “arrogance.”
Some of the reactions from the Arsenal faithful were scathing, with one user humorously suggesting that Haaland thought he was going to face Rob Holding.
Another fan commented after the match that Haaland deserved the humbling experience, while others quipped that they believed Haaland spent the entire game doing interviews rather than contributing on the pitch.
