Karim Benzema on Real Madrid needing to Replace him

It is quite the saying that nothing lasts forever, but for Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, he doesn’t quite share those sentiments, particularly when he is confronted with the idea of being replaced.

According to the Frenchman, he does not need a substitute or a replacement, although he admits it is not quite in his power to decide let alone answer the question.

Speaking ahead of the Super cup final against Bundesliga side, Eintracht Frankfurt, the Real Madrid star says he does not believe in the idea of age.

The 34 year old on Tuesday during the pre-match press conference, said:

“Age doesn’t exist. It’s true that we aren’t young, but we work hard on the pitch and off the pitch. We have a good squad, let’s hope it’s better than last year.

On the question of how the coach will consider replacing him in time, the Madrid captain said:

“I don’t know [if I need a substitute]. There’s a coach here and the president too, I’m not here to answer that,” Benzema said.

Prior to the summer, the Los Blancos were involved in the speculation over a summer move for PSG star, Kylian Mbappe before ultimately loosing out on the battle with the Frenchman opting to sign a bumper deal with Paris Saint Germain to extend his stay at the club.

The move by Real Madrid to sign forwards to replace Karim Benzema hasn’t quite worked out well to the favor of the club and against their signings, as Luka Jovic and Borja Mayoral were brought to the club only to end up at the exit door this summer.

With Karim Benzema in line to win the Ballon d’or this season, the Frenchman like he said, isn’t planning on slowing down and if his saying is right, age doesn’t exist.

Perhaps, like Captain America, he might end up doing this all day without Real Madrid needing to replace him.
