Kano airport cleaner gets promotion and cash reward for returning $10K
An employee of NAHCO, Auwal Ahmad Dankode was given a letter of praise, a promotion, and money for being honest after he returned a huge sum of $10,000 (about N16 million) that a customer had left behind in their seat on a trip.
TopNaija recalls that while cleaning the EgyptAir MS878 plane at Kano airport, Dankode found a large amount of cash—$10,000—and, being a very honest person, he gave it to the station manager right away, making sure it got back to its rightful owner safely.
Dankode’s boss, NAHCO, celebrated him at their offices in Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA). They also posted about his accomplishment on the social media site X, praising how honest and trustworthy he was.
They wrote …
“Ahmed Auwal Dankode, a NAHCO employee who returned the sum of $10,000, has been commended by the company’s management.
The GMD/CEO, Mr. Indranil Gupta, praised Auwal’s honesty and integrity, noting that his actions serve as a shining example for others.
As a reward for his honesty, Auwal received a letter of commendation, a promotion, and cash gifts from NAHCO. #nahcoaviance”
