Marriage is very hard,Hailey Baldwin, wife of international pop-star Justin Bieber submits to Vogue.

The two, who got married September 2018, sat down with Vogue where they discussed their relationship from its inception to its current state.

Justin is overwhelmed by feeling, holding Hailey in his arms and squeezing her, resting his head on her lap before rising to shower her neck in kisses, then embarrassing her with compliments.

The two met back in 2009, when Justin appeared on the “Today Show” and Hailey got tickets to see him through her actor uncle Alec Baldwin.

Hailey’s father, Stephen Baldwin, and Justin’s mother Pattie Mallette, are both born-again Christians and friends, a friendship that brought their kids together.

They didn’t start dating until years later, after they met in church. Hailey said:

One day Justin walked into Hillsong and was like, ‘Hey, you got older.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, what’s up?’ Over time he became my best guy friend. I was running around with him as his homie, but we weren’t hanging out [romantically].

But things went south. Things they both describe as “negative things.” “There was a period where if I walked into a room, he would walk out,” Hailey shared.

But one day in June 2018, in conference in Miami hosted by Rich Wilkerson Jr., the pastor of Vous Church, the two ran into each other and there existed no bad blood.

The common denominator, I promise you, is always church. By then we were past the drama. I just gave him a hug. By the end of the conference, he was like, ‘We’re not going to be friends.’ I was like, ‘We’re not?’

Justin Bieber also opened up on his depression, and how finding fame at a very early age contributed to it. He shared:

I got really depressed on tour. I haven’t talked about this, and I’m still processing so much stuff that I haven’t talked about. I was lonely. I needed some time.

It’s been so hard for me to trust people. I’ve struggled with the feeling that people are using me or aren’t really there for me, and that writers are looking to get something out of me and then use it against me. One of the big things for me is trusting myself. I’ve made some bad decisions personally, and in relationships. Those mistakes have affected my confidence in my judgment. It’s been difficult for me even to trust Hailey.
