JUST IN: FG insists subsidy is gone, asks Nigerians to dismiss viral documents

According to the Federal Government, the time of subsidizing petroleum is over for good.

It said this in response to a rough report of the Accelerated Stabilization and Advancement Plan (ASAP) that was stolen. On Tuesday, Wale Edun, the finance minister, gave the report to President Tinubu.

The ASAP, which is meant to deal with major problems that are holding back reforms and encourage growth in different areas of the economy, showed that the expected cost of fuel subsidies for 2024 is N5.4 trillion, which is N1.8 trillion more than what was spent in 2023.
