JUST IN: Buhari orders ministers to resign

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered all members of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, who wish to contest for elective offices in the 2023 elections to resign on or before May 16.

 

This includes Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, Godswill Akpabio (Niger Delta Minister); Chris Ngige (Labour and Employment Minister), Ogbonnaya Onu (Science, Technology, and Innovation), Emeka Nwajiuba (Minister of State for Education), Abubakar Malami (Justice and Attorney General), and others who have joined or wish to join the presidential race on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

 

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, revealed this in a press briefing at the end of Wednesday, May 11th FEC meeting presided over by President Buhari.
