Jurgen Klopp and his press conferences have protected him long enough

Jurgen Klopp and press conferences have hidden Liverpool as underachievers

If there’s anything Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp is famous for, it’s for his press conferences.

Of course, the German isn’t one to create controversies with his statements in interviews, but one can’t deny the charm the man exhibits in interviews and press conferences.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss is well known for his charisma and humorous personality that always gets to the media and in some way gives his team a bypass from criticisms at times.

It hides a lot of things from the media and creates some sort of pity for his team when in fact, his team should be given the backlash for being underachievers.

Liverpool more often than not, have been given a free pass in the media for some time now for failing to live up to the potential the team possesses.

Instead, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are often seen as the bad guys due to the fact that the world sees in them heavy spenders who let the money get them trophies they normally wouldn’t get.

It is a narrative Klopp has cheekily hidden under.

Liverpool can’t afford to spend like City, United and Chelsea and so don’t have the capacity to challenge for trophies like them; he would say.

But on second thought, this year’s Premier League team of the season has gone a long way to unveil the truth people have ignored for some time now.

Liverpool very much have the players that should have won the league atleast twice now compared to Manchester City’s.

Guardiola laughs at Jurgen Klopp press conferences

Manchester City’s players have on rare occasions ever dominated the charts or any rankings done season after season, something which can’t be said for Liverpool.

When it comes to the Premier League, Liverpool’s attacking and defensive lines are known to be world class, they play a system that is well praised as sensational.

But somehow they keep falling to a Guardiola Manchester City team whose star presence is basically Kevin De Bruyne.

This is very much different for a Liverpool that has Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Robertson, Trent Alexander Arnold, Alisson Becker, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah as world class players known across England and Europe.

And yet in Press Conferences, Jurgen Klopp keeps acting like Liverpool have always been at a disadvantage, forgetting Manchester City ran off with the League title on 2 occasions without the aid of a striker, and at some point without Kevin De Bruyne.

The world and the media believed so much in this narrative that Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have hidden under this umbrella to become so relaxed as Underachieving Reds.

With Liverpool now going against Jurgen Klopp’s favorite jingle of not being big spenders in a transfer market, failure to get the big prize from here on out should obviously expose the fraud for which Jurgen Klopp’s red men are.

They’ve only won 1 premier league title and a Champions League out of 3 finals in 5 years while in possession of world class talents.

Liverpool signing Darwin Nunez for a €100 million now, shouldn’t give Klopp nor his team any more excuse should they fail to win the League title next season.

They have all the ingredients now, and no matter how Klopp may try to charm his way out at the end, there shouldn’t be any more free pass this time for the German.
