City are City: Jurgen Klopp Weighs in On Title Race

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp may be a man with the hardest job in football right now, specifically in the Premier League, especially with expectations weighing on him at the moment.

The German has spent countless minutes denying the need for Liverpool to sign a midfielder this summer with his usual phrase being that he was quite content with his squad.

But after recent poor results from the field, and the history books of his seven year at clubs being brought into the light by the media, Jurgen Klopp may finally be resigning to defeat.

In a recent pre-match press conference, the Liverpool manager admits the kind of situation the club faces at the moment now with injuries to the squad and an ageing squad of midfield players.

And now, the manager is started to see the need to get in deep into the transfer window before it shuts down this coming Thursday.

Speaking to reporters, the former Borussia Dortmund boss said:

“That [looking to sign a player] changed of course. I know we have had this discussion since it all started.

“I am the one who said we don’t need a midfielder, and you were all right and I was wrong. That’s the situation.

“But the specific point doesn’t change — we will do something but it has to be the right one. We are actually working constantly on these things, sometimes [a possible transfer is] too expensive, sometimes not the right player, sometimes the situation changes.

“We are working and will see if something will happen or not. I don’t know.” However, the former Borussia Dortmund manager was absolutely adamant that his side will not go and panic buy before the end of the transfer window.

“We are looking and if it is the right player we need him,” he added. “If it is not the right player we don’t need him.

“We will not change how we deal with the situation so there is nothing for me to say to you in this moment. We will see.”

So far, the speculations doing the round links Liverpool with quite a few midfielders such as Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong who reports suggest Liverpool going for a surprise move for.
