John Terry on becoming coach at Leicester City

There is another Chelsea manager brewing on the horizon, and its former Blues legend, John Terry.

Former Chelsea captain John Terry expressed his excitement at joining Leicester City as a coach, working alongside Dean Smith and Craig Shakespeare. Terry was confirmed as part of Smith’s coaching staff after Leicester City appointed him as their new manager on a deal until the end of this season, following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers.

On Tuesday night, Terry took to Twitter to express his gratitude for all the kind and supportive messages he received from fans and friends. He also shared that he had an excellent first day at training and was pleased to meet all the players and staff at the club.

Terry stated that he was thrilled to be working with Dean, Craig, and the talented squad of players at Leicester City. He tweeted: “Thank you for all the kind & Good Luck messages @lcfc. Excellent first day at training meeting all the players and staff. I’m absolutely buzzing to be working with Dean, Craig and this talented squad of players.”

Terry, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest English defenders of his generation, won numerous titles and trophies during his time at Chelsea. He retired from playing in 2018 and subsequently worked as an assistant coach at Aston Villa under Smith. He left Villa in the summer of 2021 to pursue other coaching opportunities.
