Jigawa State Governor Criticizes CBN For New Naira Notes Scarcity
The governor of Jigawa State, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, has criticized the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the scarcity of redesigned Naira notes in commercial banks.
The governor, through the state commissioner for finance, accused the CBN of withholding the redesigned notes and causing undue hardship for citizens.
He said that the CBN was not ready for the exercise and suggested that they should do more to ease the suffering of the common people.
Only ten out of 27 local governments in the state have functional banks.
