Jadon Sancho breaks his silence on Manchester United exit
The deed is done and old Jadon Sancho has left the ranks of Manchester United for a return to Germany with Borussia Dortmund.
Jadon Sancho has officially returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United, putting an end to his spell at Old Trafford. The England international recently opened up about his departure from Manchester and expressed his excitement about rejoining the Bundesliga side.
Upon his return to Borussia Dortmund, Sancho shared his feelings, stating,
“When I walked into the dressing room today, it felt like coming home. I’ve never lost contact with the people in charge. I can’t wait to see my teammates again, play football with a smile on my face, assist and score goals, and help BVB.”
Sancho, now 23 years old, will once again don the no. 10 shirt for Borussia Dortmund. The official unveiling ceremony took place on Thursday afternoon.
The move back to Germany marks a significant change for Sancho, who has been sidelined at Manchester United since August. Despite joining the Red Devils in the summer of 2021 in a high-profile £73 million deal, the winger found himself at odds with manager Erik ten Hag, resulting in his exclusion from the team.
While Sancho’s contract with Manchester United runs until 2026, the option to extend for an additional year seems uncertain, given the strained relationship between the player and Erik ten Hag during the first half of the 2023/24 season.
