It’s all a joke, buddy—Elon Musk comes clean on Man United

Elon Musk really broke the internet some hours ago when he tweeted he was buying Premier League club, Manchester United.

Imagine the scenes, the relief on the faces of the Red Devils fan base, but alas, the billionaire was only flexing his fingers over his phone to see if his toy Twitter really works.

This came up while the Tesla CEO was in the middle of a political discussion on Twitter where he announced his intention to buy Manchester United.

But the billionaire has now come out clean to reveal it was the usual Elon Musk joke that was started right after he bought Twitter.

“Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome.” He wrote.

Elon Musk who is worth around $260 billion or more made quite the tweet to send fans of the club hoping considering its fan base have lost faith in its current owners, the Glazers.

The billionaire not wishing to give poor fans false hope amidst the rising controversy, quickly tweeted it was only a joke.

“No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams,” Musk said.

He further explained that if he was to buy any club at all it would be the Manchester outfit because, according to him, it was his childhood favorite. Wait, does Elon Musk now watch soccer?

“Although, if it were any team, it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid,” the billionaire added.

Quite a scare the Tesla CEO created online there, and rival fans of the Old Trafford club would not want to see such again.
