“It wasn’t really bad the more you look at it” — Emeka Ike

Beloved Nollywood veteran, Emeka Ike is back on the screen, and he’s bringing a whirlwind of new achievements with him. After a lengthy hiatus, Ike has emerged with a fresh perspective and a slew of successful ventures that are set to redefine his legacy.

In an exclusive interview with NollyNow, Ike revealed that his time away from acting was anything but a setback.

“My absence wasn’t really bad because it created room for me to build more brands apart from Emeka Ike, you know. I now own Nollywood TV on Startimes and I am building other brands that are highly in demand,” he shared.

This period of self-discovery and growth allowed Ike to dive into new business opportunities, marking a significant expansion of his influence beyond the film industry.

But that’s not all. The versatile actor also ventured into the political arena, taking advantage of his break to explore another dimension of public service. Ike’s return to the screen is marked by a renewed enthusiasm to entertain his fans and uphold his status as one of Nollywood’s trailblazers.

“We’re breaking the ice once again. I aim to keep entertaining my fans and meet their expectations,” he said with palpable excitement.

Ike’s sabbatical from Nollywood coincided with personal turmoil, most notably the dissolution of his marriage to Suzanne Emma. Their union, which began in 2000 and produced four children, was officially terminated on July 13, 2015, by a Lagos Island Customary Court, citing repeated violence as the cause.

Despite the painful end to his marriage, Ike has found joy again with his new wife, Yolanda Pfeiffer, and their baby girl. This new chapter in his personal life seems to have fueled his professional resurgence, proving that even after the darkest storms, the sun can shine brightly once more.
