“It was all for love” – Lagos socialite, Farida Sobowale speaks following suicide attempt on third mainland bridge (video)

Farida Sobowale, a popular Lagos socialite of House of Phreeda, has finally spoken to the public after attempting suicide following a public rescue on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

TopNaija understands that Farida, the mother of three, was rescued on Thursday, August 17, after she tried to take her life following a breakup from her husband.

In the video that trended online, the socialite came down from her Lexus SUV, and was on the verge of jumping into the lagoon when passersby saved her.

As that generated mixed reactions from online commenters, in a recent update, the businesswoman revealed that she tried to take her life out of love for her now-divorced husband.

TopNaija gathered that she held a high-profile wedding, worth over N100 million in cost, with her partner, Damola. The wedding, held in June, 2023, had the presence of Fuji Maestro K1 De Ultimate.

Sadly, barely two months after the wedding, Damola dumped her for his side-chick, one Yemisi Fasawe.

He was said to have insulted her and placed a stain on her integrity, stating that he couldn’t satisfy her in bed.

Following her recent suicide attempt, Farida released a video admitting that she did it due to her deep love for her ex-husband.

She stated she felt betrayed and duped after their expensive wedding and begged her fans and followers to forgive her. She went on to say that she had moved on and that she had left the problem to God.
