“It was a dangerous mistake” — Oleksandr Usyk on Anthony Joshua
After a stunning defeat to Daniel Dubois, long-time rival of Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk, has pointed out a glaring issue in Joshua’s technique.
According to Usyk, Joshua’s defeat stemmed from poor footwork and dangerous leaning habits in the ring.
The Ukrainian champion pinpointed Joshua’s tendency to lean back in the ring instead of properly using his footwork to retreat as a critical mistake that Dubois exploited.

“Not shocked because it’s boxing,” Usyk told reporters after the fight. The Ukrainian champion, who’s bested Joshua twice, broke down the flaw in the former champ’s approach. “If you want to step back, do it with your feet, not by leaning. It’s dangerous,” Usyk warned.
