It is Over -- Cristiano Ronaldo on beef with Lionel Messi

Former Manchester United player and current Al-Nassri striker, Cristiano Ronaldo concedes that his rivalry with Lionel Messi is over after both stars embraced a decade of dominance in the game.

Speaking of the long term rivalry that has gone on to change the history of football and driven conversations within the last decade of the game, Ronaldo has admitted to both stars doing their best to give the media a topic talk about, but now concedes that it is now over.

“I don’t see things like that, the rivalry is gone. It was good, the spectators liked it.” Ronaldo was quoted saying.

On the hate either faction of the fanbase has for either of them, Cristiano Ronaldo asserts that there was no reason hating on Messi if one’s preference was him, or hating him if one preferred Lionel Messi.

“Those who like Cristiano Ronaldo don’t have to hate Messi and vice versa. We’ve done well, we have changed the history of football. We are respected all over the world, that’s the most important thing,” he said.

The greatest rivalry that has driven conversations for the last decade has spanned a combined number of 79 trophies between both players, with the two stars the only players to have scored over 800 goals in current history.

The twilight of their careers have seen both players move on to different paths, with Ronaldo moving to Saudi Arabia last January after his fallout with Manchester United, while Lionel Messi moved on to the Major League Soccer in the summer.

Following his World Cup triumph in Qatar with Argentina, Messi is now regarded as the most decorated player, with the Argentine going on to pick a 44th career trophy with Inter Miami CF in the aftermath of his transfer to America.
