ISWAP fighters drops arms, surrenders with families- Nigerian Army

Fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and their families have reportedly surrendered to the Nigerian Army.

According to a statement on Monday, the fighters and their families surrendered to troops of 25 Task Force Brigade, Damboa, Borno State.

The Army said the ISWAP fighters and their families numbered 104, with 22 males, 27 females and 55 children.

The statement read, “BREAKING: ISWAP fighters and their families numbering 104 comprising 22 males, 27 females and 55 children surrendered to troops of 25 Task Force Brigade Damboa, Borno State on Saturday 5 February 2022”.
