Fifteen individuals were arrested in connection with the murder of Ahmad Usman, a member of a vigilante group, in the Lugbe Area of the FCT on June 4, 2022.

According to a statement from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, the suspects were apprehended after further investigation into the 30-year-old’s death.

Recall that it all started when the deceased insisted that even if “God comes down”, he will not release the person that got arrested to go home.

The comment provoked the other group, which regrouped and brought down the vigilante office to rescue their man.

One of those arrested was an Islamic cleric who allegedly incited a mob to assassinate a security officer at the Tipper Garage in Lugbe, Abuja, for supposed blasphemy against Prophet Mohammed.

CP Babaji Sunday, the Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command, who promised that the command will be brought to justice, ordered Malam Lawan and others involved in the extrajudicial mob action to be sent to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.
