Is Tuchel losing it or is it just Pre-season Mind games?
Are all the results in the pre-season games an act by Thomas Tuchel or is he losing it?
Traditionally, pre-season games don’t faze football fans no matter how it’s results turn out, instead it serves more as a window into what they can hope for when the season begins.
Where it generally becomes worrying is when a team gets defeated by the same opponent it lost to the season before, again, right after loosing to an MLS side in its tour of America.
The Blue side of London, Chelsea has not had quite the remarkable pre-season ever since it set out on its tour of the U. S.
The team has either struggled in getting out results or faced defeat, with the most notable one coming against London rivals, Arsenal in a 4-0 stumping.
This has led to some sort of speculation that either the Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel was losing it in his tactics or perfecting an illusion to draw eyes off Chelsea next season.
In a recent interview, after the pre-season friendly against Arsenal, the German noted how far off Chelsea were from top rivals Liverpool and Manchester City after the Florida Cup final earlier today.
Tuchel in his frustrating analysis of his team, notes that the names Liverpool and Manchester City shouldn’t even be mentioned in line with Chelsea as the Blues got stumped by the Gunners; a team not playing Champions League football.
And this comes after the team was defeated earlier by Charlotte FC in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.
“Given our last two weeks, our game today, we should not mention the two teams (Liverpool and Manchester City) in front of us,” Tuchel said after the game.
“We got absolutely beaten by a team that does not play Champions League football next season and finished behind us. But at the moment, they seem far ahead of us.”
Goals from Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Albert Sambi Lokonga did the pre-season damage to Chelsea at the Camping World Stadium.
