"Is Obasanjo a tribal bigot?" -- Dino Melaye

Dino Melaye refuses to stay idle on political matters and criticisms against the opposition government of the All Progressives Congress led by Bola Tinubu as Nigeria‘s president, and in his latest criticism, he drags in former President Olusegun Obasanjo into the narrative.

The former Kogi State senator for Kogi West has raised questions about the former President as Olusegun Obasanjo continues to play the silent card amidst recent events in the country.

In what he refers to as “Yoruba parapoism”, the ex-Senator took to Twitter to hit at the former politician.

Via his official Twitter account, Melaye questioned Obasanjo’s inactivity and specifically highlighted the absence of a letter addressed to President Bola Tinubu.

He expressed curiosity as to why Obasanjo, known for his outspokenness on national issues, had not penned a letter to Tinubu despite what he described as “compelling reasons” to do so.

Melaye’s tweet read,

“Is Baba Obasanjo doing Yoruba parapoism? He is yet to write Tinubu a letter, and there are compelling reasons to write one now. Baba, write ooooo….we are waiting. Senator Dino Melaye.”

The query from Melaye has sparked discussion regarding Obasanjo’s perceived silence and potential motivations behind it.

With Obasanjo known for his vocal stance on matters affecting the nation, Melaye’s tweet has brought attention to the absence of any communication from the former president to Tinubu, a prominent political figure.
