IPOB urges Igbos to vote any candidate of their choice

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a statement urging all Igbos to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming general elections and to vote for any candidate of their choice, regardless of any alleged community leader’s threat in Lagos state that business opportunities in the locale will be denied to those who fail to vote for a certain party.

Emma Powerful, the spokesperson of the Nnamdi Kanu-led self-determination group, revealed that the statement was released on Wednesday, February 15, as a response to the threat issued via an audio by an alleged community leader in Lagos state. IPOB made it clear that anyone from the South-East in any part of the country has the right to vote for any candidate of their choice in the forthcoming general elections.

IPOB has been pushing for a referendum to decide whether the Igbos should continue to be part of Nigeria, and the group’s interest has been directed towards this end. However, the group believes that everyone, including any Biafran (Igbo) who wants to vote in the election, should be allowed to vote for any party or candidate of their choice. In addition, no one should be directed or threatened to vote for a particular party in their community or state.

It is important for all citizens to know their rights and to exercise them in a peaceful and responsible manner. This is particularly true when it comes to the right to vote. The power of voting lies in the hands of the people, and every vote counts. The outcome of an election can have far-reaching effects on the country and its people, so it is important for everyone to vote based on their beliefs and conscience.

In conclusion, the IPOB’s statement serves as a reminder to all Nigerians that their right to vote is sacred and must be respected by all. Everyone should be allowed to vote for the candidate of their choice without fear of repercussions or intimidation. The forthcoming general elections are a crucial moment for Nigeria and its citizens, and it is up to everyone to make their voice heard through the ballot box.
