Intersex right activist shares photo of her NIN card with “X” gender designation

A Nigerian intersex rights activist, Nwangwu Eudora Ogechukwu has spoken concerning her gender on her NIN slip.

Intersex rights campaigner, Ogechukwu took to her Instagram story on Thursday, May 19, to reveal how she was issued her National Identity Number slip with gender classification “X”

Sharing a snapshot of her NIN slip, she wrote, “I get coconut head. I dey disturb Nigeria!”

According to Wikipedia, Intersex individuals are those born with any of several sex characteristics including chromosome patterns, gonads, or genitals that, according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, “do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies”.
