Inter Milan Reject Chelsea's Proposed Swap Deal for Andre Onana

Inter Milan has reportedly rejected a proposal from Chelsea that involved a swap deal between their goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Andre Onana, according to sources. The Italian club turned down the west Londoners’ offer, indicating their unwillingness to part with Onana in exchange for Kepa.

Chelsea is currently seeking to bolster their goalkeeping options amidst uncertainties surrounding the futures of both Kepa and Edouard Mendy.

The club has identified the need to sign another goalkeeper, and reports suggest that incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino has expressed a preference for Onana to become their first-choice shot stopper at Stamford Bridge.

However, Inter Milan swiftly rejected Chelsea’s proposed swap deal, dismissing the idea of exchanging Kepa for Andre Onana. The Italian club’s stance indicates their intention to retain the Cameroonian goalkeeper as a vital component of their team.

It is rumored that Inter Milan could demand a transfer fee of around €70 million for the 27-year-old shot-stopper, reflecting his excellent performances this season.

Andre Onana has showcased his prowess by keeping 19 clean sheets in 39 games across various competitions. His contributions have been instrumental in Inter Milan’s success in winning the Coppa Italia and securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League final.

The rejection of the swap deal by Inter Milan leaves Chelsea to explore alternative options in their pursuit of a goalkeeper to strengthen their squad.

The situation adds to the uncertainty surrounding Kepa and Mendy, as the goalkeepers strive to secure their positions as the first-choice shot stoppers for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
