Inter Milan clinch first Coppa Italia since 2011
Inter Milan have ended Juventus’ trophy hopes this season with a comeback win on Wednesday, May 11.
Alex Sandro and Dusan Vlahovic had turned the game around early in the second half despite Nicolo Barella’s scintillating strike to put Inter ahead.
But Hakan Calhanoglu’s 80th-minute penalty was all Inter needed to force the game into an extra time.
Ivan Perisic then finished the title contest with a brace in three minutes to help Inter lift the Coppa Italia for the eighth time.
Juventus’ hope of lifting any trophy in the current campaign has been dashed, first time since 2010-11.
Inter are second behind AC Milan with two games to go in the Serie A title chase.
