Insecurity: President Buhari presides over emergency meeting

President Buhari swears in five new Permanent Secretaries

President Muhammadu Buhari is presently presiding over an Emergency National Security Meeting at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting, which started at 10am is taking place at the Conference Hall of the First Lady.

In attendance are Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari; Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyema and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno.

Additionally, attending include the service chiefs: Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amoo; Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufa’i; the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi and other presidential aides.

However, details of the emergency meeting are unclear; it is no doubt related to the present security issues in the nation.
