Insecurity: President Buhari needs foreign help, says Peter Obi

Ex-Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, on Thursday, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to look for foreign assistance to resolve insecurity problems in Nigeria.

Obi disclosed this on social media in response to the increased insecurity facing the nation.

In accordance with him, the country is quickly turning into a failed state and it is time to confront the root causes and a solution is found to insecurity.

Obi advised Nigerians to unite regardless of party affiliations to address insecurity, poverty and joblessness destroying the country.

He said, “All Nigerians, irrespective of party and other affiliations, should immediately join hands to tackle the spectre of insecurity, poverty and unemployment that are now ruling and ruining our dear country. We are fast becoming a failed state.

“We cannot allow the downward spiral to continue. The government should also urgently seek foreign help.”

Peter Gregory Obi was born 19 July, 1961 at Onitsha. He is a politician and businessman who was the vice presidential candidate in the 2019 general election under the People’s Democratic Party.

He attended Christ the King College, Onitsha, where he finished his secondary school education. He was admitted to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1980, graduating with a B.A (Hons) in philosophy in 1984.

Obi attended Lagos business school, Nigeria, where he did his Chief Executive program, Harvard business school, Boston, USA, where he did two programs, London School of Economics, Columbia southwest school, New York, USA, Institute for management development, Switzerland where he also got two certificates in Senior Executive Program and Chief Executive Officers program.

He is married to Margaret Brownson Usen and their union is blessed with two children. He is a devoted Catholic.
