Insecurity: After 20 Weeks, Schools Resume In Zamfara
Zamfara State Government, on Sunday, has announced the reopening of schools 20 weeks after bandits abducted 80 students and three teachers from Government Day Secondary School, Kaya in Maradun Local Government Area.
The Acting Director, Quality Assurance, Ministry of Education, Shehu Ibrahim, made the announcement that schools should resume today, Monday, January 17.
Public and private schools categorized as “green’’ and “yellow’’ by the authorities are to resume normal academic activities.
Those under the “red“ category remain closed until the security situation improves.
