Infinix Hot 5 is Really a ‘mobile cinema’

Infinix recently launched the new Infinix Hot 5, a device that promises an immersive multimedia experience. It was because of that reason the device was dubbed ‘My mobile cinema’.

The Infinix Hot 5 enhances multimedia demands of users, from large screen size to an optimized audio quality for immersive video or music experience. Right from the point of opening the pack, being welcomed by a device wielding two front facing speakers makes you want to hurriedly put the device to test.

You get the usual from the pack, the phone, the power adapter, USB cable, earpiece, a complementary screen protector with a Ring holder as addition. Ring holders usually provide added safety and grip to smartphones so you don’t have to worry about the phone slipping off your hand. It also rotates 360 degrees for a multifunctional use.

In the case of the Infinix Hot 5, the ring holder is an accessory that supports multimedia features, it can be converted to a stand which holds the phone in position when playing games or watching videos so you don’t have to hold the phone through the entire duration of the video.

The high point of the Hot 5 is the presence of two front facing stereo speakers. Most smartphones come with a single speaker which is either placed in front, at the back or below depending on choice of design, however having two speakers gives a better audio experience, the direction of the sound is directly facing the user.

The Infinix Hot 5 is also embedded with Dirac technology which automatically turns the device into a boombox. Over the years, Infinix have proven to have a fair success in battery technology. This is evident in their Note series characterised by long lasting batteries. Although there is always a trade off with the size and weight of the Note devices, but the 4,000mAh on the Hot 5 doesn’t add that extra bulk or weight to the device.

You are sure to get more than a day on usage even if you are heavy on social media. The battery also last for about 10 hours on full charge when watching movies.

Display is not so great, although bright enough to deliver a decent video experience. Viewing angle is very good and it is also bright enough for easy use under sunlight.

Overall design is pretty basic with nothing extraordinary. Other features also are on the average. The removable back cover is patterned to enhance grip, power button and volume rocker takes their position on the right, a finger print scanner is placed at the back alongside the camera and LED flash.

Both front and back camera have low quality under low light conditions but when outside under natural lighting, you may get an average picture quality that can still make it to the ‘gram’.

The Infinix Hot 5 is a device that delivers personalised multimedia experience to users with less focus on killer specifications. As a mid-range device, it still takes care of your basic requirement from a smartphone.
