INEC Rejects Governorship Results In Abia And Enugu
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reportedly rejected the results of the gubernatorial elections in Abia and Enugu States in Nigeria, citing alleged vote-padding and discrepancies with the actual number of accredited voters during the polls.
In Enugu, the opposition Labour Party agents and governorship candidate opposed the results collation of Nkanu East council, claiming that the votes were padded.
Similarly, in Abia, political thugs disrupted the collation of results in Obingwa council area. INEC has suspended the announcement of the results, which has led to heightened tensions in both states.
INEC officials have ordered a review of the results and called for the right things to be done.
