INEC Bans Use Of Mobile Phones (SEE DETAILS)
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a warning to voters that the use of mobile phones or any photographic device inside the voting cubicle is prohibited during elections.
This warning was made by Barrister Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner and Chairman of INEC Voter Education and Publicity Committee, during a news programme on Channels Television.
Barrister Festus Okoye stated that anyone caught taking pictures of the party they cast their votes for will be prosecuted and jailed.
He also mentioned that officials from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and security agencies will be present to monitor and ensure compliance with the law.
It is important for voters to adhere to this warning and refrain from taking pictures or using their mobile phones inside the voting cubicle. This is to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and prevent any form of vote-buying or coercion.
